Position Summary:
SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing all restroom fixtures, piping associated with water distribution, and sanitation systems at MBCC and the campus. Inspects drainage and other plumbing systems for compliance with local codes and national regulations.
This role will pay an hourly rate of $31.91.

Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain all restroom fixtures to include flush valves, faucets, and all porcelain fixtures.
- Maintain and repair damaged pipes, and clogged drains.
- Maintain and repair the hot water distribution systems.
- Maintain and repair all plumbing systems within the kitchens.
- Work with contractors on recertification of all backflow preventers.
- Work with contractors to maintain all grease traps.
- Work with contractors to maintain all lift stations.
- Work with contractors to inspect and maintain all compressed air systems.
- Work with contractors for underground sanitary, drainage, and water supply piping systems.
- Assist contractors in the layout, assembly, and installation of pipe fixtures for water and air systems.
- Be proficient in the use of all hand tools and the maintenance of all plumbing systems within the venues.
- Work with contractors to dig trenches/install pipes and piping fixtures for water or sewage systems as needed.
- Mount hangers and brackets on walls to provide support for pipes as needed.
- Ensure compliance with building codes and set safety standards.
- Be able to measure, cut, and assemble pipes to required angles using measurement tools.
- Inspect plumbing systems to identify issues and initiate repairs.
- Liaise with contractors, pipefitters, and other construction workers to ensure an effective plumbing system.
- Work with contractors on the fire sprinkler system as needed to check their work.
- Performs plumbing maintenance and repair to all center plumbing and irrigation sprinkler systems.
- Responsible for maintaining adequate inventory of parts and tools.
- Ability to work with and evaluate outside service contractors.
- Other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Degree required, completion of trade school and/or vocational program, journeymen license required.
Requires 3 to 5 years of commercial plumbing experience, preferably in a public assembly facility.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Demonstrated plumbing and solder expertise and with sufficient knowledge to assume all the plumbing responsibility for a large facility.
Ability to read and understand blueprints and sketches and follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
Good written, verbal, and people skills required; ability to interact with all levels of staff.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must be computer literate and have working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Requires journeyman’s license in plumbing.

The Plumber works in indoor and outdoor work settings with mild to adverse exposure to environmental hazards. Incumbents in this position work in varying settings and will be subject to noise and atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odor, dust, etc.
